You can either buy the regular (copper core) spark plugs or the longer life, platinum plugs. Copper core plugs -- often the choice for high-performance, turbocharged vehicles -- can last up to 30,000 miles, whereas platinum plugs can go 60,000 miles or more, depending on the application. The platinum plugs are of course more expensive but are probably worth the extra cost in terms of future maintenance
