Question: REplace timing belt @ 60K

My 05 Sportage has 57Kmi on it. Do I really need to change the timing belt at 60K? How much does it cost?

I replaced my timing belt at $60,000. I purchased the part from the parts dept.

If you don't there is a chance of the engine locking up. I purchased the part and had my father, who is a mechnic, to replace it for me.

I have a 2002 Sportage. My timing belt broke Dec, 2009 at 92,288 miles. I got luck that it did not bend the valves in my engine. I recommend replacing the belt before this happens to you.

By Brian Alexander, Road Test Editor DriverSide Overview How far the Koreans have come.
