I think so as my 02 burns it up pretty fast too. My wife's 99 jetta too so I think that's par for the course with them?

bought my 2008 A4 2.0T new in June 08. With 10200 miles on the odometer now, it has not burned any oil at all. I check it regularily to make sure.

From what I understand, turbo engines typically burn one quart of oil every 5,00 miles or so. My 2007 A3 has needed two extra quarts over 12,000 miles. Turbo engine burn hotter, therefore burns oil faster.

One quart every 5K miles or so sounds about right. I check at the beginning of every month and generally need to add 1/3 of a quart (I drive about 1K miles per month). I've had my 2007 A3 2.0T since new, and driven 25K miles in two years. I haven't had any problems with it at all, so I assume this must be ok.
